Journal Entry 1/2

- Created first version of Project B

Notes:

The game is split into 3 scenes. 

The first scene is partly outside and has an entrance into a dungeon. There is a door which needs to be opened by a pressurepad  right in front of it, once the player enters through the door into the dungeon and gets far enough the door shuts behind them (There is another door with a staircase leading down behind it, but that door doesn't opens) and a boulder falls from above and breaks the floor making the player fall and transporting him into the next scene.

The second scene is the inside of the dungeon and the main part of the game. The player start by falling down, they only have one heart because the fall caused some damage. First thing the player has to do is break a pillar that is blocking their progress, after that a button needs to be shot for a door to open, behind the door the player can jump down into an optional area with some platforming and get health as a reward. The main way continues with some platforming and enemies, the player has to get to a moving platform which will take them to the next section. 

The next section involves a box puzzle, ones the player gets there they need to go right until they see a box dispenser. Shooting the button will make a box drop down from a hole in the celling, the player needs to push it to a pressurepad  attached to a moving platform they passed on their way there (The pressurepad  will only work with the box), once the box is on it the platform starts moving. If the player stays on the moving platform they get a chance to jump to a secret area with some enemies and health at the end of it. The moving platform will stop for a moment at that point the player has to push the box of and jump down. Once they have done that they can use the box to make a jump to a ledge which would be otherwise too high up. Next is some platforming which leads you up to the final hall of the dungeon.

In here the player needs to solve a puzzle involving statues and butons, before that the last optional area is to the left behind a breakable column, there is an enemy guarding some health and the other end of the staircase from the first scene blocked of by a boulder. To solve the puzzle the player needs to activate only the buttons next to the unbroken statues. After they solve it moving platform will activate and take them out of the dungeon and into the final scene.


The final scene will be really short the player is going to ride the elevator to the surface and get to the end of the game.

I still need to finish the last scene, for now it is a small walled of area. I also want to make the last puzzle bit more user friendly (The moving platform starts immediately leaving even if the player isn't on it) and lastly I want to add some cosmetic details to the scenes.

I had some issues making the box stick to the floor so I made a collider above the moving  platform which only applies to the box, I am going to try look for some better solution.


I am sorry that this is the first journal entry I misunderstood the way we  were supposed to write these, last week I made everything up to the last puzzle, today I finished the rest.
